1989
Intex International was founded in 1989 in Melbourne, Australia, after CEO Simon J. Salisbury recognised a persistent market need for metal plasterboard angles.
“As a young salesman in the mid-1980s, I constantly fielded requests for perforated angles—yet major suppliers had withdrawn them,” Simon recalls. Seizing the opportunity, he established Intex, named for its core offering of internal and external profiles, and began distributing to retailers across Australia.
